I'm kind of too sleepy to work on anything else, so the first five people to comment to this post will get an AU twindrabble of their choice! Any scenario, mundane or magical or whatever.

This is from... slightly later in the fic. Not huge spoilers, but I hadn't written this part yet, so. ;)

"Tom!" The sound of quick footsteps and a familiar voice halted Tom in his tracks. He was briefly grateful he had not yet collected Bill's Feast Day gifts from his room, given how few places he had to hide them on his person in his formal attire, and then his mind had room for nothing but his beautiful Prince.

"Tom, where in the heavens have you been?" Bill's arms closed about his shoulders, and Tom smiled down into Bill's sparkling eyes. "I swear, I have been looking for you all day."

"We were together just this morning," Tom laughed, slipping his own arms around Bill's waist, daring to kiss his mouth.

Bill flushed as always, pleased by the gesture. "Yes, but then the preparations for the feast, and the celebration... I have missed you, Master Clockworker." He pulled a stern face at Tom, and Tom laughed again. "See that it does not happen twice."

"Yes, High Prince," Tom agreed. "Of course."

Bill pressed his lips to Tom's once more, then released him to seek something in some hidden pocket of his robe. Tom wondered whether his own garments contained secret pouches as well, and he had simply failed to find them. "I have something for you. A gift."

"On your own Feast Day?" Tom asked, surprised.

"Well, yes. I knew you had admired some of the components in the treasury, so I took the liberty..." Bill favored him with a shy smile, imbued with the obvious hope that Tom would appreciate the gift, and opened his hands. "To please you would please me more than any trinket could."

"Oh," Tom breathed. Bill held some of the intricately engraved gears and timepiece hands Tom had been so entranced by, as well as several other bits of metalworking. "Bill... but..." His fingers moved toward the components of their own accord, though he restrained himself at the last moment. "I can't accept these."

"You can, and you will." Bill made a brave attempt to maintain his firm facade, but then he laughed gaily. "Your punishment for letting me suffer so long without your company, if you like."

Tom close Bill's hands around the gears and other parts so they wouldn't fall, then swept him into a fervent kiss. The pieces themselves meant so much to him, but so little when compared to Bill's love and consideration.
